Scope of Duties for an Accounting Specialist
At Caring for Family of Companies we look for people with a nurturing spirit and a genuine desire to support and care for others.
In this role, you can expect some or all of the following duties:
Adherence to processes and accounting policies to enhance internal controls
Produce error-free accounting reports
Perform all medical billing functions, including authorizations
Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
Reconcile bank statements for multiple entities
Assist with monthly and year-end closing activities
Assist with receipts and record keeping systems
Assist with payroll functions
Assist with benefit administration functions
Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
Perform general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department
Requirements
Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures
Experience with benefits, payroll, receivables, collections, taxes, payables preferred
In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Familiarity with financial accounting statements
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close
Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, including QuickBooks
Advanced MS Excel skills
Accuracy and attention to detail
Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred

Strong interpersonal, discretion, and judgment skills
Proficiency with technology and electronic devices
