This is an empty vintage World War II M2 50 Browning Heavy Machine Gun Ammunition Box.
It has the U.
S.
flaming bomb logo.
It is empty now but originally contained 105 linked rounds, which identifies it as one of the first models of the M2 ammo boxes.
This box was manufactured by Modern Steel Equipment Company in Geneva, Illinois.
The labeling on the can indicates it was packed with ammo at the Twin Cities Ammunition Plant in Minnesota.
It measures approximately 12 inches by 7-1/2 inches by 6 inches.
Its lid opens and closes on its hinge and the latch closes and secures properly.
Made of all metal.
