Antique Folk Art Painted Wood Trunk Blanket Chest - $375

Early (mid to late 1800s) wood lidded trunk with hand painted folk art details and hand forged handles.
This trunk has been charmingly modified throughout its history with horse tack leather hinges replacing the original metal ones.
The interior shows where a shelf or keepsake box used to be fitted into the space.
The handles are attached with rustic bent metal pins.
Square nails were used to build it.
This piece has a Pennsylvania Dutch feel to its construction.
Perhaps an early Oregon trail participant brought it out this way.
Nice size for coffee table or end of bed storage.
