Opportunity
Provides care to patients by performing clinic laboratory functions in Mosaic Community Health's in-house collection area; this includes but is not limited to the collection of specimens in a correct, efficient, and safe manner from patients for examination and testing.
Manage lab results as needed including follow up communication with providers and medical staff.
Performs and documents CLIA waved testing and runs quality control on various specimens and clinic equipment at required intervals.
Carries out additional tasks as directed by medical providers and management.
Responsibilities
Performs in-house laboratory tests in accordance with laboratory manual and CLIA standards.
Specimen Collection utilizing various methods for venipuncture that include straight needles, Butterfly needles and syringes as well as Capillary punctures.
Specimen processing as outlined by testing laboratory.
Properly uses testing equipment and instrumentation.
Troubleshoots problems, takes corrective actions, and seeks assistance from supervisor as necessary.
Communicates follow up information with providers and medical staff in a timely manner.
Exhibits knowledge of aseptic techniques, knowledge of correct handling of potentially infectious specimens, and ability to identify adverse reactions.
Skills & Knowledge
Experience working on computers including typing/keyboarding skills.
Experience working with low-income population.

Required
1 year(s): Minimum of one year experience in medical office setting or laboratory performing patient care duties including blood draws.
