Job Summary Disability Access Services is seeking a Disability Access Services (DAS) Coordinator.
This is a full-time (1.
00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.
Disability Access Services (DAS) aspires to and actively works towards equitable and accessible experiences for students with disabilities at Oregon State University (OSU).
DAS serves the mission of OSU by providing access to educational opportunities to a population who has historically been disadvantaged in higher education, students with disabilities.
DAS supports disabled students by providing reasonable and appropriate accommodations as required by Federal and State laws.

Key Responsibilities 50% Direct Student Support Advise and coordinate disability access services for OSU-Cascades students in collaboration with the DAS team located in Corvallis.
Including: Conducting intake interviews and orientations for new DAS students Providing ongoing support to students, as needed, using a coaching model Meeting with prospective students to provide a general overview of DAS services and resources available to students with documented disabilities Maintain accurate and confidential records associated with student services provided to DAS students in the AIM system where possible.
Act as the DAS representative for pertinent Cascades based meetings/committees and provide relevant DAS Cascades student data as needed.
Develop effective and positive professional relationships with OSU-Cascades faculty/instructors, staff, and administration.
Work collaboratively with on-campus partners to ensure accommodations are reasonable and implemented appropriately for eligible DAS students.
Provide expertise and propose viable alternatives to faculty for implementation of accommodations Refer students to appropriate resources on and off campus based on professional judgment and student needs.
40% Program Supervision Oversee all aspects of the Cascades DAS Testing Center including: Coordinate with faculty to obtain exams and verify allowable materials Schedule testing appointments with DAS students Identify and proactively resolve issues that may affect students’ access to taking exams.
Confirm accommodations for DAS students taking exams Proctor exams or arranges for proctoring by student employees, or others.
Serve as the emergency contact for the testing center.
Responsible for developing and implementing emergency management procedures.
Provide alternative testing services statistics for departmental reports.
Hire, train and supervise student employees Work with other DAS team members to develop training curriculum and competency rubrics for student workers at the OSU-Cascades site, including for proctors and other student workers.
Implement training curriculum for any DAS student workers on the OSU-Cascades site.
Evaluate student workers based on the competency rubrics to provide feedback on performance to increase proficiency on career readiness outcomes.
Evaluate the skill level of student workers to make appropriate work assignments.
Operate and train student workers (proctors) on assistive technology (hardware & software) in the testing center.
Coordinates all OSU-Cascades disabled student accommodations including but not limited to : notetaking options, assisting with locating and scheduling sign language interpreters, places ADA furniture, as needed.
Reads, reviews and interprets students’ psycho-educational, psychological, medical and other professional information Actively participate in DAS meetings including but not limited to: weekly documentation review team (academics and housing), DAS staff meetings, DAS special topics.
c Works with appropriate staff regarding budget needs.
10% Program Support and Integration (Inclusive of Outreach, Committee Work and Office Projects) Represent DAS services at Cascades recruitment events, campus resource orientations, and campus efforts towards diversity, equity, and inclusion programming.
Participates in professional organizations and activities, completes ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned What You Will Need Bachelor’s degree in relevant field Two years of professional level experience working with individuals with disabilities.
Competency and experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures and a demonstrable commitment to diversity.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively through written communication and verbally in front of groups and to provide workshops, trainings and outreach programs.
Ability to use strong analytical and critical thinking skills for assessment and problem solving to resolve issues and propose new systems using Universal Design.
Prior experience with supervising employees (students).
Demonstrated ability to successfully work independently.
Intermediate proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, presentation tools and webpage updates.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq.
Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030 et seq.
Offers of employment are contingent upon meeting all minimum qualifications including the motor vehicle check requirement.
What We Would Like You to Have Master’s Degree in higher/postsecondary education, counseling, social work or related field Understanding of student development theory.
Progressively responsible college or university student services experience.
Experience in college or university Disability Access Services office including understanding of section 504 and ADA (American with Disabilities Act) as applied to post-secondary educational institutions.
Experience reading diagnostic assessments and documentation of cognitive, psychiatric and medical disorders, and understanding the functional impact with-in an educational setting.
Fluency in a second language, Spanish preferred.
