Kennel Assistant
Job Summary
Looking to get started in the Veterinary field? FT/PT Position available.
Monday through Saturday 10 hour shifts available.
The primary purpose of the Kennel Assistant is maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the entire hospital.
Kennel Assistants also help staff provide care and basic needs to animals that are being treated or hospitalized at Central Oregon Animal Hospital.
Responsibilities and Duties
Important attributes: Professional, detailed oriented, organized, able to multitask, team player, compassionate, service oriented, good communicator, reliable.
Daily tasks include but are not limited to:
Clean exam and surgery rooms between patients.
· Clean and sterilize surgery tools
· Keep areas stocked with appropriate equipment or materials
· Maintain equipment used to complete tasks
· Wash, dry, fold clinic laundry
· Participate in inventory control and unpacking freight
· Perform cleaning, mopping, vacuuming of entire clinic at close.
· Empty all clinic trash and recycling
· Wash, dry patient food and water bowls
· Patrol hospital grounds, picking up trash and stool material
· Assist veterinarian or technicians or other personnel as needed with restraint
Qualifications and Skills

· Be a self-starter, and able to multitask
· Be highly motivated, with a positive attitude
· Have exemplary communication skills
· Treat every patient with respect, and with excellent customer service
