A Staff Accountant who will connect numbers to what is happening in the business and communicate in a way that drives others to action.
Partnering with the business to provide critical financial perspective and insight for business activities to help the team make data-driven decisions.

Reporting to the VP of Finance, you are a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant with a strong foundation in accounting principles and practices, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
You will play a vital role in supporting various accounting functions to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
*In a typical month you will*… Review and pay vendor invoices, review A/R aging to minimize past due balances, reconcile balance sheet accounts, work closely with vendors and suppliers and support Puffin teammates on navigating accounting systems.

com *Job Title:* Staff Accountant *Location:* Bend, Oregon *Responsibilities:* · General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
· Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries as needed, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to accounting principles.
· Accounts Payable: Process accounts payable invoices, prepare vendor payments, and reconcile vendor statements.
· Accounts Receivable: Post customer payments in accounting system, support customer invoicing and collections.
· Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions to ensure accuracy.
Support company with completing expense reports.
· Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.
· Respond to inquiries from vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders regarding financial transactions.
· Expense Management: Monitor and analyze company expenses, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
· Compliance and Audit Support: Assist in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and support external audit processes as needed.
· Track customer resale certifications in our reporting system.
· Assist with financial reporting tasks, including generating various financial reports as needed.
· Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
· Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues across departments, providing financial expertise and support as needed.
· Assist with ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned by the VP of Finance.
*Qualifications and Skills:* · Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
· Previous experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in the consumer product industry.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.
g.
, Business Central, Concur, etc.
).
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in handling financial information.
· Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies.
· Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) is desirable.
