Schilling’s Garden Market is excited to announce an opening for one part-time seasonal Farm Stand Associate.
We are seeking and individual who has excellent customer service skills, has good work ethic, food/beverage knowledge, and a strong commitment to purveying local food is a plus.
As a Farm Stand Associate, you will be responsible for many aspects of Farm Stand operation.
This position is seasonal, beginning in late March and lasting through December - with the option to return the following season.
You must have a valid OLCC server’s permit to apply or be willing to get one ASAP.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Excellent attention to product knowledge.
• Demonstrate accurate and responsible management of a cash register and cash handling.
• Motivated, energetic, and flexible.
• Must be able to regularly lift 50+ pounds.
• Hold a valid/current OLCC Server’s Permit.
• Experience with retail and/or agriculture environments.
• Must be available weekdays and weekends.
(Schedule is Thursday-Monday)
• Oregon wine, beer, and cider knowledge is a plus!
• Plant/garden care is a plus!
• Working knowledge of produce, including handling and storage is a plus!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Greet and assist customers throughout their entire shopping experience.
• Open and close register as needed.
• Checking customers out at register.
• Cash handling and basic register troubleshooting.
• Maintain pleasant interactions with all customers to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
• Intently and accurately address customer questions and provide product information.
• General cleaning
• Merchandising
• Water and maintain plants on the retail floor as needed
• Answer the phone, return messages
• Restock retail and customer service items as needed
• General knowledge of upcoming events at Schilling’s
• Assist with workshops and classes as needed
• Assist nursery staff as needed
• Any other duty assigned

Compensation: $16.
00 - $18.
