Summary The City of Bend Fire & Rescue Department is actively recruiting for one(1) Full-Time Fire Warehouse/Logistics Technician I.
This opportunity is represented by the City of Bend Employees Association (COBEA), and is FLSA non-exempt (overtime eligible) position.
This is the entry-level of the Facilities Maintenance Technician series, does not supervise staff and works under moderate supervision under the direction of a Fire Warehouse/Logistics Coordinator.
This class performs semi-skilled maintenance and repairs on the City’s public buildings and grounds, including the electronic security door systems, office relocations, and all aspects of building remodeling construction including basic plumbing, mechanical and carpentry.

Functions, Duties and Responsibilities Essential Functions Include: The information provided below encompasses the essential functions and capabilities linked with this position.
Duties and Responsibilities The individual in this position is expected to engage in the following work-related activities.
Performs a variety of routine maintenance activities, which may include: scheduled preventative maintenance inspections, replacing light bulbs; replacing doors, locks, and handles; painting; and/or, performing other related activities.
Performs basic plumbing maintenance and repair; unplugs sinks, toilets and drains.
Performs basic carpentry duties in the installation of shelves, doors and windows, bulletin boards and signs; tapes, muds and paints damaged interior/exterior walls.
Builds, repairs and maintains office furniture and equipment; installs and moves modular office furniture.
Maintains records on all maintenance and repair activities.
Assists Fire Warehouse/Logistics Coordinator in more complex maintenance and repair tasks.
Assist in winter snow removal operations.
Assists in the day-to-day functions of the warehouses including organizing, stocking, and inventory documentation.
Helps maintain appropriate levels of inventory and supplies required to complete building maintenance and repairs.
Delivers necessary equipment to fire stations as requested.
Performs related duties as necessary to achieve the objectives of the position.
Complies with safety requirements of the position and actively promotes safe work practices.
In an emergency event or an officially declared State of Emergency, responds as directed to ensure the restoration of essential public services, facilities and infrastructure.
Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

Education, Experience, Certifications and Licenses Required: High School Diploma or equivalent (G.

) and at least one year of experience in building construction, maintenance, and woodworking; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
